چکیده
Abstract In Malaysia, the remediation of soils polluted by organic compounds is a challenging issue in environmental engineering. Improper treatment and conventional remove-and-replace approaches have low performance terms cost sustainability. Hence, chemical stabilisation has been utilised worldwide to enhance engineering properties soils. This study focused on stabilising soil using cementitious-based chemicals blended with netted-polymeric fibre improve its strength. paper reviews relevant past work as basis for pipeline. The aims determine effectiveness reinforcement shear strength characteristics stabilised sand. tensile resistance that can be mobilised normal pressures acting soil. best mixture sand, clay, content stabiliser will identified way forward. samples would then evaluated parametrically field application considerations.

Temperature and soil organic matter decomposition rates - synthesis of current knowledge and a way forward
The response of soil organic matter (OM) decomposition to increasing temperature is a critical aspect of ecosystem responses to global change. The impacts of climate warming on decomposition dynamics have not been resolved due to apparently contradictory results from field and lab experiments, most of which has focused on labile carbon with short turnover times. But the majority of total soil c...
متن کاملStability and stabilisation of biochar and green manure in soil with different organic carbon contents
Due to its recalcitrance against microbial degradation, biochar is very stable in soil compared to other organic matter additions, making its application to soils a suitable approach for the build-up of soil organic carbon (SOC). The net effects of such biochar addition also depend on its interactions with existing organic matter in soils. A study was established to investigate how the status o...
متن کاملApplication of wastewater with high organic load for saline-sodic soil reclamation focusing on soil purification ability
Fresh water source scarcity in arid and semiarid area is limitation factor for saline-sodic soil reclamation. The reusing of agricultural drainage and industrial wastewater are preferred strategies for combating with this concern. The objective of current study was evaluation in application of industrial sugar manufacture wastewater due to high soluble organic compounds in saline-sodic and sodi...
متن کاملContaminated soil treatment: Summary of PhD thesis on stabilisation/solidification combined with biodegradation
This work investigated development of operating envelopes for stabilisation/solidification (S/S) treatment, and facilitation of biodegradation within S/S treated contaminated soils, with the aim of improving the robustness and sustainability of S/S technology. The ‘process envelopes’ study utilised different conventional cementitious binders for treatment of contaminated soil, and generated ext...
متن کاملBiochar—One way forward for soil carbon in offset mechanisms in Africa?
The Kyoto Protocol’s Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) has had relatively little success in Africa due to a number of factors. Increases in agricultural soil carbon have strong benefits for soil health as well as potential for carbon sequestration, but such projects are currently excluded from the CDM and other offset mechanisms. Small-scale biochar systems with net emission reductions may hold...
